How does a session work?

A facilitator creates a session and shares a six-character join code. Participants answer a short guided wizard from their own device, in their own time. Their responses build a shared picture the team reviews and discusses together.

Yes. Good Conversations About AI is free while it's in beta. There's nothing to buy, and you don't need to enter card details to run a session.

What is the anonymous session option?

When a session is anonymous, participant names are hidden across the wall, landscape map, presenter slides, and any PDF, CSV or Markdown exports. The facilitator still sees real names in the participants list so they can manage the session, but nothing shared with the group is attributed. It's the same either way for the AI, which never receives names or roles.

Can I make a session anonymous after it has started?

Yes. The facilitator can switch a named session to anonymous at any point, from the session page. Names come off everything the team sees, including what has already been written. This can't be undone: turning it back on would expose names people had been told were hidden, so the tool won't let you. If a session is anonymous, that's how it stays.

Do participants need an account?

No. Participants join with a session code from any device — no sign-up required. Only facilitators need an account so they can create and manage sessions.

Can I export the results?

Yes. From the facilitator dashboard you can export the session as a Markdown summary, as a PDF report, or as a CSV containing all the underlying reflections and decisions. Presenter mode also lets you export the slide sequence as a one-page-per-slide PDF for sharing after the session. Exports respect the anonymous setting.

What is presenter mode?

Presenter mode turns the session results into a guided slide sequence — one focus per slide — so the team can walk through alignments, tensions, and decisions together on a shared screen.

How is participant data stored and kept private?

Accepted Answer

Responses are stored in a secured backend in the EU (Ireland), with row-level access controls so only the session facilitator and participants can see them. When the facilitator generates the report, the reflections are sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude model that writes it. Names and roles are never sent, and the text is not used to train models.
